Plate is a food photo diary built only for iPhone (iOS 18 or newer). You save a photo, the date and a few notes for each meal, then scroll back through them like a diary. It’s in beta now on Apple’s TestFlight.
Plate is made for exactly that. Take or pick a photo of what you cooked and add notes, like who taught you the recipe or who you ate with. It stays private to you until you choose to share it with friends.
Yes. Plate has no calorie counting, macros, barcode scanning or food scores. It’s a place to remember meals and the stories behind them, not to track intake.
The simplest way is a photo and a line or two after each meal. Plate puts those photos and notes in order by date, so you can look back at what you cooked and ate weeks or years later, without filling in forms.

No. Plate (tryplate.app) is a food diary you can share with friends, made by Gülenay and Efe. It isn’t related to Plate Notes, PlateDiary, Plate Journal, PlateKeep or MyPlate, which are separate apps from other developers.
Why are we making this?
Meals have always brought people together. Around tables, shared trays, floor cloths and kitchen counters, loved ones gather and conversation moves with the food.
Every culture gathers differently. Each has its own dishes, ways of serving and rituals around a meal. We don’t want to flatten that into one idea of food. Different plates and communities should meet on equal footing.
Each person keeps their own food diary. When they choose to share, those personal memories can become a wider table made from food, conversation and love.
