What Plate is for
Plate is a big table. It is for food and the moments around it: what you cook, what you eat and who you eat it with. Share your own photos and your own words.
Not allowed
- Nudity or sexual content.
- Anything that sexualizes or endangers children. We have zero tolerance for this and we report it to the authorities.
- Violence, gore or threats.
- Content that promotes self-harm or suicide. If someone is in danger, contact local emergency services.
- Hate: attacks on people for who they are, such as their race, ethnicity, nationality, religion, caste, gender, sexual orientation, disability, age or illness.
- Bullying or harassment.
- Spam, scams, fake accounts or selling.
- Photos or details of other people shared without their permission.
- Anything illegal.
Food culture is welcome
Every cuisine has a seat at this table. So do drinks at the table, from rakı to wine, raw ingredients and a whole fish on the grill. That is food culture and it is fine here.
Zero tolerance
We have zero tolerance for objectionable content and abusive users. We review every report within 24 hours. We remove content that breaks these rules and can suspend or remove accounts that break them.
How to report
In the app, open the “…” menu on any plate, comment or profile. You will find Report and Block there.
No app or no account? Use the report form.
What happens after a report
If we remove something, the person who shared it gets a short note saying what we removed and why. They can write to hello@tryplate.app to ask for a second look.
We never tell them who reported it.
Blocking
Blocking is two-way and silent. We do not tell the other person. It ends your friendship and you stop seeing each other’s plates, profile and comments.
You can unblock people in Settings, under Privacy. Unblocking does not bring the friendship back.
