Terms
Last updated October 21, 2026.
Who we are
Plate is operated by Gülenay Atmaca and Efe Bakır. These terms cover the Plate iPhone app and this website. How we handle your data is in the Privacy policy.
The beta
Plate is in beta. Features may change, move or go away while we test. Purchases are off during the beta.
The waitlist
Joining the waitlist does not guarantee a beta place or a particular invitation date. The product information on this website may change as the beta develops.
Your account
To create an account you must be at least 13. Where your country sets a higher age, you must meet that age. You are responsible for what you post from your account.
Your content
Your plates, photos and comments stay yours. When you post, you let us store them and show them to the people you choose. World plates can be seen by anyone using Plate. You can delete your content at any time.
Only post photos and words that are yours to share.
Community rules
Everyone on Plate follows our community rules. We have zero tolerance for objectionable content and abusive users. We review every report within 24 hours. We remove content that breaks these rules and can suspend or remove accounts that break them.
Reports and removal
Anyone can report a plate, comment or profile from the “…” menu in the app or with the report form. We may remove content or suspend accounts that break these terms or the community rules.
When we remove something, we tell the person who posted it what we removed, why we removed it and whether an automated check was involved. They can ask for a second look at hello@tryplate.app.
Blocking
You can block anyone. Blocking is two-way and silent: it ends the friendship and you stop seeing each other’s plates, profile and comments.
Ending your account
You can delete your account in the app at any time. We can suspend or end accounts that break these terms.
No promises in the beta
Plate is a beta and comes as it is, without any promise that it will always work or be free of mistakes.
Your use of the website
Please use the website and waitlist only for their intended purpose. Do not try to disrupt the service, submit another person’s email without permission or interfere with other visitors.
External services
The waitlist uses Supabase to receive and store submissions. The research interview link on the Contact page uses Calendly. Those services operate under their own terms when you use them.
Changes to these terms
If we change these terms, we tell you in the app and ask you to agree again.
Questions
Email hello@tryplate.app if you have a question about these terms.
